How to recover windows from an unplugged display

Steps

Unplug a display, then open the Stages Bar or menu bar → Offline Displays to see the Offline Display Shelf card.

Click the card: Use Temporarily to work on a connected display, or Convert to Stage to keep those windows permanently.

Reconnect the display — windows return automatically. Use Restore Now if that button is shown.

Settings → Workspaces → Keep disconnected-display windows aside controls the shelf. Off leaves windows on connected displays; use Rescue Windows if any go off-screen.
