How to create a new stage

Press Opt+N (European layout: Ctrl+Opt+N).

Stages Bar

Open the Stages Bar.

Click the + card on the bar. The stage-card context menu does not include New Stage.

Click the BetterStage icon in the menu bar.

Choose New Stage.

Drag or Snap Wheel

Drag a window onto the + card on the Stages Bar, or open Snap Wheel → Send to Stage → Send to New Stage.

That creates a stage and sends the window in one step.
