How to float an app

Snap Wheel

Focus a window of the app.

Open Snap Wheel → More Actions → Float App. The window centers and stays stage-owned.

Open Settings → App Exceptions → Float in Window Modes.

Add the app.
Use Unfloat the Window or remove the app from that list to put it back in panes. Exclude from Staging blocks floating. This is not the menu bar Exclude App from Auto-Tiling item.
