How to show window previews in the ⌘Tab Switcher

Published by BetterStage · Instructions for our macOS app; detailed feature reference is linked below.

Steps

  1. 1

Open Settings → ⌘Tab Switcher and turn on Show window previews.

  2. 2

When BetterStage explains the permission, continue and allow BetterStage in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.

  3. 3

Open the switcher again. Without the permission, it shows app icons instead.

Screen Recording is used only to draw previews. They stay in memory on your Mac; nothing is recorded, saved, or sent.
