Steps

    Open Settings → Window Modes → Modes & Behavior → Pane Behavior.

  2. 2

    Set keep empty pane after last window, show empty pane prompt, hide tab bar in single-window panes, and automatically balance layout.

  3. 3

    These four toggles are one Settings group.
