On the target monitor, choose TabStack… from the menu bar.

Pick Split View, Focus + Stack, or Four Corners. Cancel leaves the monitor on macOS Native.

If Settings → Window Modes → Use default layout automatically is on, the menu says TabStack (no ellipsis) and the chooser is skipped.
